Our clients came to us seeking a new kitchen as their current one was old and tired. The functionality was still reasonable, so with a few design ideas we were able to create a more user friendly footprint and enhance aesthetics and build their dream kitchen. The desired outcome included making a feature of the new canopy over the hotplates and re-tiling the floors for a more light and spacious feel. The flooring was old and tired, so new very large tiles were laid in the entire family/kitchen area to give new life to this hub.
In keeping the country theme, they chose shaker doors and drawers in the cabinetry which matches the country feel they were seeking. The new canopy became a feature of the kitchen by using a country style mantle and stepping the lower drawer bank out to match. New cornice and bulkheads matched the new cabinetry, giving this tired kitchen a new life.
Re-design features included: adding an appliance cupboard, mantle and canopy, extra glass door display overhead cupboards, 2pac paint, 40 mm Ceaserstone and external and internal drawers for the pantry. New overheads were implemented along with a larger pantry to create more storage space.
Further features include: porcelain butlers sink; pull out twin bins; 40mm Caesarstone bench tops; embossed tiles for the splash back and 800mm x 600mm porcelain floor tiles. Fitting stainless steel appliances gave the sleek modern look.
Overall, this is an awesome transformation using modern colours and country style cabinetry which achieved their vision of a modern country look and feel. They also maximised the storage capacity by adding an appliance cupboard and adding more glass feature display overhead cupboards; giving a light and airy atmosphere, ready for any occasion.
